A Long Absence

So much has happened since I last wrote anything. I had many intentions to write on some of the things that have been occurring but then I had a loss in my family. That lead to making an emergency trip home to say good bye and help clean and put away the things that were left behind. I know there is never a good time to lose someone but it was hard not to feel like this was the absolute worst time. I travel from a country that had pretty much gotten rid of Covid to a country where cases were ever increasing. I traveled knowing that upon my return I would have to go into quarantine for two weeks.

Home I went and hard it was, quarantine I did and hard it was. Now I am back on the farm and trying to get back into the swing of things. It is not easy as I am still dealing with the loss among other things, so I’m taking it slow. I am doing things that I know help lift my spirits (even though they are not my favorite tasks… weeding) but the grey skies and cold weather are really not helping. However, I am back and I am looking forward to spring and while I will probably never be 100% over the loss I do hope that time will help.

On the farm we grow animals, a garden, orchards, a forest, and experience. Follow along while I learn all the things required to care for and grow food. Lessons are learned mistakes are made but at the end of the day I wouldn't have it any other way
