2019 Spring Edition
This week was another week where I have been behind. My mother in law was still in hospital and so extras are only getting caught up on now. Short and sweet is the way to go.
In Animal News
This week our sheep got a hair cut, just in time for the weather to cool off a little. They were so funny after there wool was gone, they all acted like they did not know each other. I was also very happy so see that my first ever attempt at banding ram lambs was a success. Go me…
That little piglet Herswiney is doing a little better, her skin is clearing up. I also think the additional feed has been helpful, we shall see. I will just add it here round two chicks are free and we have yet to loose a single chick! We also brought in one more group of chicks with a hen. That is another 5 making our total chick count 23.
Whats Growing
So much got planted this week. I planted out sunflowers, beans, and a tomato. I sowed zucchini, basil, lettuce, flowers, beans, and squash. I prepped for some kumera (New Zealand sweet potato). The best part was sowing seeds at a friends house. I think planting with friends is a fun way to go.
What I learned
This week I learned that sometimes you think you have it all together but when things get a little busy you realize that you are not doing as well as you think you are. Having my mother in law in hospital has taken just enough out of me that I finally realized that it is more than I thought.
